Webinar: English for Proficient Speakers (C1-C2)

Target Group

The target group of this course is staff with a proficient level of spoken English (level C1-C2 according to the Common European Frame of Reference for Languages; you can find a guideline for self-evaluation here).

Please note that previous participants of “English for Proficient Speakers (C1-C2)” courses are also welcome to join this workshop.

Goals

If you feel like your English is already at a very high level but you would like to have the chance to speak it on a more regular basis, and in so doing further improve your fluency and linguistic competence, then this is the workshop for you.

By attending the regular weekly sessions you will be able to:

  • strengthen your ability to speak spontaneously on a number of topical issues
  • learn to recognise and use sophisticated language
  • widen your vocabulary covering a wide range of content
  • develop your ability to summarise and express potentially complex ideas and information in a variety of spoken contexts

Content

  • Each lesson will be cover a different topical subject designed to stimulate discussion and debate.
  • The lessons will involve a variety of communicative tasks and media input.
  • An emphasis will be placed on individual needs, both regarding the topics covered and individual feedback.
  • By keeping the group size small each participant will have ample opportunity to contribute in a relaxed and constructive atmosphere.
