Strategic Self-Assessment - Realizing and Promoting Your Competencies & the Benefits that Ensue
 

 

 

 

While you might be content with your position, don’t you want to make it better? Consciously knowing what you are good at and how to use these strengths in a satisfying way at work will bring bountiful benefits at the workplace. Strategic self-assessment combined with "Job Crafting" is an empowering concept that captures the active changes employees make to their own job. By committing to this workshop you will see positive changes at work. The positive outcomes from this strategy include:

Target group

 

 

Members of the administrative staff who want to increase their job satisfaction by actively building on their competencies and implementing strategies on how to utilize these strengths.

 

 

 

Workshop Goals

 

 

  • Gaining a better understanding of yourself as well as increasing your self-confidence.
  • Finding answers on questions such as
    • Who am I? (Biography work)
    • What do I bring along? (Compilation of the personal profile)
    • What do I want to do in 5 years? (Vision)
    • How do I want to work? What do I need at work? (Surrounding conditions)
  • In what areas do I want to develop myself further? (Targets)
  • Developing strategies to be used in the workplace we will use your strengths, values, and the conditions of your work place.

 

 

 

Workshop Content

 

 

  • Compilation of a life profile based on a personal biographical collection  
    • Relevant areas of life:
      • family and close relationships
      • work, jobs  
      • school education, apprenticeships, studies, further education, advanced trainings
      • interests/hobbies, voluntary/community service, sports
  • Presentation of the personal life profile in a constructive one-to-one dialogue, working out basic biographical points.
  • Elaboration on individual strengths (subject-related, methodological, social and personal), and values on the basis of the life profile.  
  • Learning about approaches and strategies on how to be able to pro-actively change the work place design in order to achieve a better fit with one’s needs and requirements.
  • Receiving extensive feedback and suggestions for adjusting the current job to the individual profile.

All registered participants will be informed of the location by email one week before the event.

 



Fees and Registration

 

This workshop is open to a limited number of participants. The registration deadline is 31 January 2018.

Please note that you should notify us before the registration deadline if you are unable to attend the workshop. Otherwise the full fee will be charged.
Please let the Personnel Development and Planning Office know if you will not be attending. There are often waiting lists for the workshops, and this will give one of your colleagues the chance to attend. In addition, if we can fill the vacancy with someone from the waiting list, no cancellation charges will apply for you.

Dr. Silke Oehrlein-Karpi

 
  • has gained expertise in the field of academia at universities, she worked for 10 years as a scientist  - 6 years as a team-leader.
  • has worked as a coach and a trainer at universities in Austria and Germany since 2008.
  • is associated with 20 coaches of the Coaching Netz Wissenschaft e.V.
  • works on the following topics: personal development & self-management, career planning, workplace cooperation, project management, leadership, self-marketing and netzworking.
  • Through her approach space of inspiration for professional development may be activated.
  • Her intention is to empower her clients and to encourage them in order to become more authentic.
