Presenting with high impact - clear, confident and convincing
In today’s working world, giving convincing presentations has become an integral part of the skill set for many professions. Our training will help you to communicate information, make proposals, advertise programs and get approval for your ideas. In this presentation training you will learn how to make clear, concise and logical presentations. You will make an impact with a confident and convincing style.
Target Group
WU employees who present to groups of five people or more either within the University or externally, and who want to get across key information and win support for their proposals.
Workshop Goals
After participating in this workshop, you present your information and projects more effectively and get across key messages rapidly and to the point. Furthermore, you will be more confident when presenting and thus, more convincing. You know how to structure complex issues logically and how to use visual aids to support the presentation – making the information more interesting, easier to understand and more appealing to the audience. That saves time and helps to get good ideas approved!
Workshop Content
- Power up your personal performance and impact – employ “nervous energy” positively
- Meet the needs of your audience by selecting the right information and structuring it with the HPS QUICK-Struct©
- Prepare and structure convincing proposals and solutions
- Define presentation goals and analyse audience interests with the Target Tool©
- Use effective HPS tools for a strong presentation start and a successful finale
- Handle media professionally to guide audience attention
- Draft and design PowerPoint slides quickly and effectively, with a modern presentation design
- Handle disturbances and objections professionally, lead discussions and Q&A sessions
Workshop Methods
Learning by doing ensures 100% practical value
- Working on topics from your own professional experience (use the seminar to prepare for real upcoming situations and save time)
- Participants bring two presentations on their own notebook to the training session
- Stress-free video analysis and a personal SD-card for documentation of the progress

Fees and Registration
This workshop is open to a limited number of participants. The registration deadline is 20 November 2018.
Please note that you should notify us before the registration deadline if you are unable to attend the workshop. Otherwise the full fee will be charged.
Please let the Personnel Development and Planning Office know if you will not be attending. There are often waiting lists for the workshops, and this will give one of your colleagues the chance to attend. In addition, if we can fill the vacancy with someone from the waiting list, no cancellation charges will apply for you.

Alex Bauer, PhD Alexander Bauer has many years of experience as an International Sales and Marketing Manager, having given countless presentations to large and small groups in various countries around the globe. He combines this practical experience with theoretical knowledge as a Senior Lecturer for Marketing, Sales & International Management at Universities of Applied Sciences in Austria and the Netherlands.
