The Language Lunch series is a fun and time-saving opportunity to improve your English-language competence over lunch! In the summer semester, the series continues with the following three workshops:

  1. English Grammar for People Who Hate Grammar
  2. Common Mistakes & False Friends
  3. Let’s Talk about Tech

These workshops are part of the “Language Lunch” series and can be booked individually. Please note that even if you would like to attend all three, you must still book them separately. If you want to sign up for " Let’s Talk about Tech” please click "Register" at the bottom of this page. If you want to sign up for the other ones, please click on the respective workshop title above.

Content

Digitalisation is one of the most popular buzzwords in higher education at the moment – in fact, we can see it here at the WU as much as anywhere else!

In this Language Lunch, we will discuss what digitalisation is all about, how it affects our daily lives, and how it is perceived at the WU. We will discuss how new words such as these enter a language in the first place, and the session will equip you with the language skills necessary to talk about tech in informal settings. We will also have a more hands-on demonstration to learn some slightly more niche terminology that you may not have encountered elsewhere.

And most importantly: no IT skills necessary!

You can find more information on specific digitalization projects at WU on the Transforming Tomorrow page in Sharepoint.
